Obstacles Welcome by Ralph de la Vega is a modern day account of the American dream. Sent to America as young boy Ralph de le Vega recounts the obstacles he overcame to reach the position of President and CEO of AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. Looking at each difficultly he endured as an opportunity to grow, de le Vega shows how vision, communication and sacrifice can empower any individual with the desire to advance. A must read for those reaching for the stars.
I enjoyed reading Obstacles Welcome. When I received the book I was prepared for a wordy, boring, rags to riches story. The book is anything but boring. Written simply, the book would be perfect for high school students as they consider career choices and life's directions. I found the book to be very encouraging for anyone that may be experiencing low self-esteem and are easily defeated by obstacles.
Although Obstacles Welcome is not listed as religious book the content is a great example of Christian values and how the character of one man influenced a major corporation.
